Concurrent Sessions

Enjoy a variety of well-prepared, interactive concurrent sessions offered Thursday through Saturday.  Sessions will represent fifteen different professional interest strands.

NADE Board-Sponsored Strand

Thursday features a special Board-sponsored strand of concurrent sessions that will focus on national issues and will be presented by a series of nationally-recognized speakers.

Poster Sessions

Garner information from poster sessions on Thursday, February 28, and Friday, March 1. Presenters will capture images and text to explain the discovery of new knowledge in developmental education, new technologies, methods, materials in their programs; or the results of research in developmental education. Conference attendees are encouraged to support the poster sessions and to engage in dialogue with presenters.

Annual Silent Auction

Prepare for “good finds” at the Annual NADE Silent Auction, running from Wednesday afternoon, February 27, through Friday morning, March 1. All monies raised will go to the Martha Maxwell Developmental Education Student Scholarship Fund. Every chapter is urged to bring at least one Silent Auction donation. Individual donations are welcomed also. Contact Brenda.garrison@ccd.edu, for more information.

Literacy Project

NADE chapters and individuals are encouraged to bring books and/or school supplies to donate to a local children’s project.

Continuing Education Credits

NADE participants interested in earning continuing education credit, undergraduate or graduate, may enroll in a one-credit hour course through Adams State University.  A one-page reaction/summary paper is required.  Tuition is $55, payable by check or credit card (MasterCard, Visa, Discover).  Register on-site at the information table.

Awards

This year, NADE awards and program certifications will be presented during three all-conference events.  Join us in recognizing your colleagues at the Opening Reception, Wednesday, February 27 and at the plenary sessions Thursday, February 28, and Friday, March 1.

SPIN, Chapter, and Committee Meetings

Every NADE member is given one free membership to a Special Professional Interest Network (SPIN).  Additional SPIN memberships are only $5.00 each.  We encourage you to stop by the SPIN Zone at the NADE booth to learn more about SPINs as well as to attend a SPIN meeting on Thursday, February 28, 4:00 pm – 5:15 pm.

All 31 NADE chapters will hold meetings conducted by chapter officers on Friday, March 1, 1:45 p.m. – 2:35 p.m.  A meeting will also be provided for those interested in starting new chapters. Chapter meetings are open to all conference attendees even if you are not a member in your state or region.
NADE committees are part of the leadership structure of the association, and many committees need additional members who are willing to serve in this capacity.  Consider getting involved at the national level by attending one or more of the meetings scheduled throughout the conference.

Exhibit Hall

The Exhibit Hall will feature booths from NADE reciprocal organizations and sponsoring companies.  In addition, local artisans will set up shop for your souvenir treasures.  Continental breakfasts will be offered Thursday and Friday mornings in the Exhibit Hall.

Volunteers

Volunteers play a vital role in successful NADE conferences.  To serve at this conference, send in the volunteer form in the Call to Conference or simply stop by the information table to volunteer during the conference.
